Should I update my computer’s sound card if I plan on mixing music?

Hey everyone!

I have a quick question about mixing music on my computer digitally.

I recently purchased Abletone Live and will probably try to dissect it sometime soon.

My questions is, should I update my sound card? And if so, what kind of sound card features or specs should I be looking for in order to have overall better sound quality?

You definitely need to upgrade to a better soundcard if you are on onboard audio. You can get either creative or auzentech, since both are running on the x-fi technology. Else the offerings from asus xonar series.
Do expect to get one that is feature rich (look at the specs and some external reviews). Lastly a nice set of speakers.
